Thank you for visiting NDVH.org

We invite you to use this web site to gather information about domestic violence and about what NDVH does to help women, children and men who are in abusive relationships. If you are unable to get through today, please continue to call the Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or 1-800-787-3224 (TTY for Deaf, Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing) at a later time until you are able to speak directly to an advocate.

How to Navigate NDVH.org

This site provides information about how to recognize that you or someone you know may be experiencing an emotionally, verbally or physically violent relationship. You can also use the search box on the right side of this page to locate a specific item.

Get Help

The Get Help tab features information about how to recognize an abusive relationship and ways that a friend or family member may speak to someone who is in a relationship involving domestic violence. You can also find information regarding safety planning, which can help someone plan how to leave a dangerous situation. If you or someone you know is thinking of leaving their partner, please call the Hotline to speak to an advocate who can help you formulate a plan of action.

If you or someone you know is thinking about obtaining a protective or restraining order as part of safety planning, please visit www.womenslaw.org, which offers state-by state legal information and resources. You can also call and speak to a Hotline advocate for further information about protective or restraining orders.

The Get Help tab also includes a list of available resources in your local community, whether you are seeking shelter or looking for a volunteer opportunity.
